Labrador Earns 100% Rating from Americans for ProsperityThursday January 12, 2012
(WASHINGTON, D.C).- Americans for Prosperity announced this week that first-term Congressman Raúl Labrador (ID-01) received a 100 percent or A+ rating from their organization’s scoring of the “most important economic votes of the first session of the 112th Congress.”Congressman Labrador was just one of 40 members of Congress and five members of the Senate to earn this distinction.
“We are at a turning point in our nation’s history: we can either continue down a road of reckless spending and burdensome taxation, or we can return our government to its constitutional parameters and free enterprise foundations,” Congressman Labrador said. “I am proud that AFP has acknowledged my efforts to restore the American Dream by voting to limit government, preserve individual liberty and foster prosperity.”
According to its mission statement, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is “an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state, and federal levels.” The group is made up of more than 1.8 million activists in all 50 states.
“AFP is proud to count Idaho U.S. Representative Raúl Labrador among the Members of Congress who received a perfect 100 percent score on AFP’s key vote scorecard during the first session of the 112th Congress. There have been several pivotal votes on whether we’re going to fix our disastrous fiscal crisis, rein in out-of-control regulators and restore health care decisions to be between doctors and patients,” AFP Director of Government Affairs James Valvo said. “Congressman Labrador was a consistent conservative throughout the session on these and other issues. AFP looks forward to his continued leadership.”
