Labrador Statement on 11th Anniversary of September 11 Terrorist AttacksTuesday September 11, 2012
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Idaho First District Congressman Raúl Labrador today issued the following statement in observation of the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:
“Today marks a solemn anniversary for our nation as we remember those Americans whose lives were taken from them in the September 11th terrorist attacks. Over 3,000 civilians and first responders lost their lives that day and in the days following. The destruction and loss of life from the attacks was devastating, and families across our country still grieve loved ones every day. The heroism shown during and after those attacks is a true testament to the American spirit, the very reason our great nation was targeted.
“These civilians and first responders became martyrs for the causes of liberty and freedom. I trust that the rest of us will never forget the tragedy that tore them from friends and family and the victory of the American spirit over those who seek to do our nation harm.”
